Sound recording is 90% preparation and 10% recording - I'm constantly updating my kit to provide the best equipment your production budget can buy.
My equipment is an ever-expanding beast of all the latest in audio technology to get your next project sounding the best it possibly can. Whether it's a podcast, a corporate, a commercial or a multi-camera/multi-contributor documentary - I've got the right kit for the job :-
- Sound Devices Scorpio - 32 Channel Mixer/Recorder with in built noise suppression (good for annoying noises like planes, AC and leaf blowers)
- Sound Devices 664 - 6 Channel Mixer/Recorder - superseded by the Scorpio but still used as a backup and for in-car recording.
- Audio LTD A10 Radio Mics - The best digital radio mics on the market with internal recording - small, light and easy to hide on talent.
- Sanken Cos 11 Lapel Mics - industry standard and great sounding - super easy to hide beneath clothing.
- Boom Mics - I use Sennheiser microphones - solid and reliable for out in the field - I have most of the MKH range old and new - MKH 8040/8050/8060 and of course always the old faithful classic Sennheiser 416.
- Podcast Mics - I use the ever-ready Shure SM7b Dynamic Mic - used on all the big podcasts by the likes of Joe Rogan and Russel Brand.
- Timecode - on a shoot I handle the timecode with Tentacle Sync E's - tiny Bluetooth enabled lockit boxes that keep cameras in sync for the whole day. And for the cameras such as Go Pros without timecode I have a digislate - very useful for in-car filming.
- Batteries - I use the best rechargeable batteries in the business - Hawkwoods - and they keep my equipment going for hours at a time without the fear of a battery going dead at that vital moment. I also use rechargeables wherever possible in all my kit to minimise environmental impact.
- Everything you need - I've got all the other leads, cables, connectors, walkie talkies, gizmos and gadgets that you could possibly ever want, but it's probably too boring to list it all here. If there's something I haven't mentioned, just ask - I probably already have it or can get it in easily.
