I've worked in television for fifteen years and have been recording sound for over twelve of those. I work across several genres and formats including factual entertainment, documentary, scripted, branded content and commercials.
I'm never happier than working out on location and I'm lucky enough to have travelled the world filming in all sorts of locations with all sorts of people from Amazon tribes to North Sea sailors.
Having dual nationality gives me both British & Irish passports allowing Europe-wide visa free travel. I also have a USA I-Visa valid for 6 years.
I love being part of the story telling process and working on exciting new projects with fresh challenges. I'm equally at home working on small run and gun crews with just one self-shooting director as I am working in large multi-camera studio crews.
I'm adept at working with a range of cameras including Sony A7S/FS7/FX9/Venice, Canon C300/5D, Arris & Reds.
Having to work closely with people is a big part of the job and I'm used to micing up talent from all walks of life including A-list film stars, big name presenters, reality stars, music legends, science experts, and everyday normal people telling extraordinary stories. A large part of my role is making on-screen talent feel at ease with the often difficult process of filming.
My specialisms include in-car filming, recording in difficult/noisy environments, podcasting, hidden mics, live broadcasts and outdoor adventure programming.
